Last Saturday, it was with great excitement that the team behind Amblemead got the opportunity to meet some of our new owners and residents, and chat about our shared vision for the neighbourhood and environment.
The sun was shining over the gorgeous lake and lawns of the reserve, while we enjoyed fresh coffee from the Amblemead Coffee Cart, local Adelaide Hills wine, beer and cheese plates and chatted to new friends and acquaintances. Children on bikes and scooters, kites being flown – the sunshine and shade made for a relaxing change of pace for many.
It was great to see so many new and future residents helping to celebrate the start of the community feeling and encouraging everyone to connect with those who will be living in their neighbourhood.
A comment heard over and again was “I had always wanted to have a great connected neighbourhood but didn’t really know where to start. Today opened the door to get on with it.”
Often people say they have been meaning to get to know their neighbours, but many don’t get around to it due to the hectic pace of life we all lead. Feeling like you may have a neighbour to tell that you’re going away or to bring the bin in, is refreshing – not everyone will want to be super social but to live in a community which is welcoming, kind and supportive seems like a good place to start.
